Hello, I've been creeping on No Man's Sky for a long time, and the community looks really exciting. I definitely want to be on board with all the excitement right out the gate when the game hits, and this looks like a good place to do it. I'm reading up on all the Forum rules now, and all the empty discovery forums are making my mouth water. Other than that I usually just burn time on Overwatch! Can't wait to hear all the exciting stuff from everyone!
Been a long time PC gamer since the early dos days. ADOM, point-and-click adventures like Loom, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, and all the old collections such as Hocus Pocus, Commander Keen, Sim Ant...hell, I could go on and on for awhile. Ultima Online days of Catskills. The first Rainbow Six. All the exploration in those old games without any prior knowledge, I feel like that's what has me so excited about No Man's Sky. And it looks relaxing as Ffffff (I curse a lot, but I'll try to keep it down).
Hey klophidian! Yeah this community looks awesome. I'm also new to these forums so I'd like to introduce myself as well.
I've been a PC Gamer for over 15 years. I've always built my own PC. I remember playing games on floppy disks with dos and Win 3.1. I've played a lot of games in different genres but I've always had a soft spot for space games. When I heard about No Man's Sky, my mind was so blown away. All those planets and variations of life on them. Not to mention space battles. It's going to be amazing!
Anyway, I can't wait to start playing and sharing everything I find with the PC community.

Senshudan here...my first pc was an Atari 520ST (circa 1984?), which I used mainly for Flight Simulator (MS), but also for a game called Sundog (which would my first space game). It was kind of like an early NMS type game...explore, fight, survive, trade; heavy emphasis on trade, that was really the point of the game.
I've always had a PC of some type, so that by now I have built several desktops (look up senshudan in pcpartpicker) and repaired quite a few laptops. I have 4 desktops, 5 laptops, 3 PS3s, 2 PS2s, and a PS1 floating around the house now (3 people in my family, 10-15 years of accumulated stuff). My network rocks! (I'm getting 50 - 75 Mbps down and 5-8 up.) (Actually I have 2 networks: 5ghz & 2.5ghz)
Having said all that, I don't consider myself an expert by any means; I know just enough to get by.
I'm using my latest desktop build for flying helicopters in xplane, but I'm really excited super hyped about this NMS game! And that's really saying something as most games leave me kind of cold...
