Didn't Sean say that his suit wasn't upgraded enough so he died when trying to get there, and by the time his suit was upgraded enough he forgot where it was and wasn't able to find it anymore.
I found the reference for this. Video should start right where he talks about this. (32min) This video is worth listening to from the start if you havent. Its a podcast with GameInformer recorded late 2014. So some things may have changed since then. For example in the 70 questions interview he says No there will not be npc's, but now there is.
At 17min 25sec, is when Sean confirmed at the time of this interview, No Spaceships cant go underwater but they may add it in the future.
the real question is if we can harvest the crashed underwater ships for tech or resources. that way, if you accidentally land/crash in water you can at least go back and recover some of your upgrades and resources. on that note, due we all remember that crashed freighter in that one video?[real vague i know] if we can harvest crashed ships underwater, what about freighters and capital ships?
What I want to know is: What are you supposed to land on when flying over an ocean planet? If the whole planet is ocean, how do we explore it? I want there to be some way of hovering over the water, or something so we can actually explore ocean planets. Who knows, maybe there wont be 100% ocean planets, but I think that would be a cool planet design.
Wasn't there a mention at one point of possible land vehicles though in the future? Not for initial release, but later down the road. I don't see why we could not build some sort of submersible vehicle if that becomes a reality later down the line.
Someone from reddit posted "Land vehicles have been confirmed for a future update after release." But, that was a year ago, so not sure. Anyways, submarines, go!
What I want to know is: What are you supposed to land on when flying over an ocean planet?--i think all planets come with a Trader Hub with several landing pads.
If the whole planet is ocean, how do we explore it?--so for a 100% water world, i guess we land at the Hub and "jump off" and swim around till we find something else to land on, like a crashed ship, partially submerged building, or anything else sticking out of the water. Anyone who does this please post a picture of that planet, or your unique landing spot.
